Skin is the outmost layer of the human body, a physical barrier shielding deeper structures and inner organs from external influences. Any changes or diseases on the skin may exert profound influence the body health. A quick glance and distinction between benign and malignant lesions, as in melanoma of the skin, can save a human life. Motivating the affected person to fight against a small skin spot with all possible means requires trust and responsibility on both sides. With 20 years of working experience at the University Hospital in Zurich, a leading center for skin cancer in Europe and beyond, I have continuously expanded my knowledge and gathered broad expertise in the field of skin cancer.

My field of expertise involves management of different types and stages of skin cancer. This includes the surgical treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer (basal cell and squamous carcinoma), Merkel cell carcinoma and melanoma of all localizations. For complex and advanced cases, I work with an interdisciplinary network of experts on surgical as well as other, conservative treatment options and radiotherapy. It is my personal goal to put my experience and expertise in the service of my patients.

🇨🇭☀️ Wolfgang Gruber leidet under weissem Hautkrebs. Nun erzählt er von seiner Krankheit. In der Schweiz ist er nicht alleine: Bei rund 25'000 Menschen wird jährlich Hautkrebs diagnostiziert. Die wichtigste Ursache für Hautkrebs ist die UV-Strahlung von Sonne und Solarium.
